Tour Plan
We will pick you from Arusha airport or Kilimanjaro airport for overnight in your accommodation in Arusha city.
Pick up from your Arusha hotel at 8:00 AM, then embark on a 3-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, located 115 km away. Enjoy a full day of game driving in the park, known for its large elephant herds, tree-climbing pythons, and iconic baobab trees. Afterward, head to Marera View Lodge for dinner and overnight. Tarangire, covering 2,800 square kilometers, derives its name from the Tarangire River, a vital water source for wildlife. Besides elephants, you’ll also encounter lions, leopards, and various other animals throughout your adventure.
Wake up around 6:30 AM for breakfast before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater floor. Spend the day exploring this unique caldera, home to the Big Five and various bird species, including the elusive black rhino. Enjoy lunch inside the crater, surrounded by nature and vibrant flamingos. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, was formed from a major explosion 2 to 3 million years ago and was named one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders in 2015. Wildlife includes over 7,000 wildebeest, 6,000 hyenas, 4,000 zebras, and 30 black rhinos, among others. After a full day of wildlife viewing, drive to Kisimangeda Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, we journey along rugged roads to Lake Eyasi, a soda lake in the Rift Valley. Arriving in the afternoon, we engage in a cultural exchange with the intriguing Datoga tribe, guided by a local expert. Explore the arid landscape on foot and interact with the Hadzabe, or Watindiga, who live as their ancestors did 10,000 years ago, hunting with bows and arrows and foraging for wild foods. The Datoga tribe, also known as Barabaig or Mang’ati, adds to the area's rich cultural tapestry, historically known for their grazing land rivalries with the Maasai.
We begin early with a hunting tour alongside the bushmen before returning to the lodge for breakfast. Next, we head to Lake Manyara for a full day of game driving. Spot the unique tree-climbing lions, marvel at the flamingos drawn by the lake's algae, and visit a hot spring. Later, experience Maasai culture with a visit to a Maasai boma to learn about their traditions and way of life. Finally, drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight stay.
